Free Summer Lunches for Kids at NOPL Brewerton

Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) at Brewerton has been approved as a free summer lunch site. The program is offered in partnership with Oswego County Opportunities and is supported by the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

  • The summer lunch program at NOPL Brewerton begins on Monday, July 1, 2024 and runs through Friday, August 30, 2024
  • Lunches are free for children and teens aged 18 and under and will be served at NOPL Brewerton, 5440 Bennett St, Brewerton, NY from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday thru Friday.
  • Any child or teen aged 18 and under is welcome to attend, regardless of county, school, or library district. NOPL Brewerton is an equal opportunity provider.
  • Registration is encouraged. To ensure lunch availability, call 315-676-7484 or stop by NOPL Brewerton to sign up for the next day’s lunch or register for the whole week. (To sign up for a Monday lunch, register by the previous Friday.)

Join SUNY ESF/Izaak Walton League’s Young Naturalists to learn about the ways that animals deal with the heat and dry/wet air in the summer!

Put your cake decorating skills to the test. You will get a cupcake and have a variety of candies, frostings, and colors to create a unique design. Plus, you get to eat your cupcake creation at the end!

Join us for musical storytelling as well as interactive music & movement for kids 1 to 10 years old with plenty of shakers to keep the beat with Miss Donna’s guitar for this song filled summer reading program with facepainting to follow!

Put together a team of 2-4 people to compete to be the first ones to finish putting together a puzzle. The first team to complete the puzzle, or the one that has the least number of pieces left at the end, wins a prize!

Sensory activities help babies and toddlers explore their five senses to help brain development on the road to learning early literacy skills. There will be several stations set up with different sensory activities for babies and toddlers to explore.

September 29th Fall Farm Day event at ARISE at the Farm, with Tangled Roots and Bull & Bear, hayrides, nature walks.


Saturday, August 10th

On Saturday August 10th 2024 from 9am – 8pm, Central New York hosts a Highland Games, Pipe Band competition and Celtic ethnic activities at the incredible venue of Long Branch Park on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse. 2024 will be our 81st running of the games. Our family-friendly GAMES offers a day full of Competitions for: Solo Piping, Drumming & Pipe Bands, Highland Dancing & Heavy Athletics. We also have Children’s Games, entertainment, Celtic themed vendors & food, clans & societies, harpers, Syracuse Irish Session & Massed Bands.

Clay Historical Association’s Fall Festival
Clay Historical Association is hosting its annual fall festival on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11-3pm at Clay Historical Park, 4939 State Route 31, Clay (behind Immanuel Lutheran Church). The Cigarville Railroad Station, 1900’s replica log cabin, Sellen-Weller barn, and Visitor Center will be open to the public.
Come and check out the numerous vendors (artwork, tee-shirts, jewelry, nail polish, Pampered Chef, Beef Jerky, homemade quilts and crafts, etc) and demos (Karate John’s and Civil War Reenactors, etc) throughout the park. Kid attractions are areas to play games, face painting, Special Kidz Sensory Gym, and NOPL Pop-Up Library.
Bring your appetite for apple fritters, hotdogs, nachos & cheese, popcorn, and drinks. Dave’s Finger Lickin’ Chicken will be there from 11:30-sold out ($15.00- ½ half chicken, beans, salt potatoes, and a dinner roll).
Family Fun! Free Parking and Admission! Rain or Shine!
